About SFJAZZ

Founded in 1983, SFJAZZ presents the greatest names in jazz, Latin and other global music and nurtures the art of improvisation through its year-round concert, commissioning and education programs. The West Coast’s biggest jazz presenter serves about 200,000 fans and students every year. Here are some of the things we do:

SFJAZZ Center Season 1

From September through June, the most creative and compelling musicians on the scene — Dave Holland, Brad Mehldau, Jason Moran, Mariza and Bill Frisell — perform at the beautiful new SFJAZZ Center, often in four-night runs showing their artistic range.

San Francisco Jazz Festival

A 10-day bash celebrating the start of summer and the rich range of music played on stages around the center and the neighborhood.

SFJAZZ Education

The mission of SFJAZZ Education is to reach, develop and nurture current and future musicians and audiences by providing rich, innovative, interactive and informative programming in jazz appreciation, creation and performance within our diverse communities. Year-round education programs for youth and adults, such as the award-winning SFJAZZ High School All-Star program, Family Matinees and our Discover Jazz classes.

SFJAZZ Collective

The SFJAZZ Collective is an all-star jazz ensemble comprising eight of the finest performer/composers at work in jazz today. Launched in 2004 by SFJAZZ, the Collective has quickly become one of the most exciting and acclaimed groups on the American and international jazz scenes.
