Founded amid the exuberance of the California Gold Rush, Congregation Sherith Israel has welcomed the Jews of San Francisco and beyond since 1851. The dramatic and historic sanctuary, with its glorious stained glass windows, hand painted frescoes, burnished woodwork and Murray Harris organ, occupies the entire second level of the synagogue. The sanctuary accommodates 1,400 people.

Oakland's Paramount Theatre is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States. Designed by renowned San Francisco architect Timothy L. Pflueger and completed in late 1931, it was one of the first Depression-era buildings to incorporate and integrate the work of numerous creative artists into its architecture and is particularly noteworthy for its successful orchestration of the various artistic disciplines into an original and harmonious whole.

Swedish American Music Hall

Located above the Café Du Nord in the same building, the Swedish American Hall was built in 1907 by Swedish craftsmen. Its centerpiece is a spectacular grand ballroom that is full of warm woods and old country charm. Though the grand ballroom is large enough to support leading national acts, it is the perfect venue to provide guests with a uniquely intimate musical experience.
