Catch a glimpse of “some of the most promising jazz talents” (KQED) in the Bay Area in this free opening event of the 2006 Festival. Celebrating the ensemble’s fifth anniversary, band director Dr. Dee Spencer will lead her charges, 20 young jazz musicians from throughout the Bay Area who offer “testimony to the continuing persistence of the creative spirit” (Los Angeles Times).
