  • “Brings a sultry, smoke-tinged voice to fado’s dramatic arcs.” – The New York Times

One of the newest faces among today’s next-wave of Portuguese fado stars, Ana Moura was “discovered” by Jorge Fernando, guitarist of the late “Queen of Fado,” Amália Rodrigues. Moura and Fernando appear following the October U.S. release of her sophomore CD, Aconteceu (which Fernando produced), already an acclaimed CD in Europe and nominated for a prestigious Dutch Edison Award. Acoustic Guitar Magazine hailed Moura’s “contralto of enormous subtlety” while praising her debut album, Guarda-Me a Vida Mão, as “a miraculous set that’s both heartbreaking and uplifting, filled with loneliness and sensuality.” Read Program Notes
