    Against the Grain. She's the Woman. Perpetually Hip. Guitarist Mimi Fox's album titles are apt descriptions of her oeuvre, but perhaps no one articulated her talent as well as her mentor, the late guitar legend Joe Pass: "Fox plays with tremendous fire. She can do pretty much anything she wants on her instrument." Fox’s latest recording, this year’s Perpetually Hip, takes advantage of that adaptability, featuring the guitarist with a rhythm section on one CD, and a second of Fox flying solo.
