International superstar Goran Bregovic leads the musical equivalent of a three-ring circus, a dizzying Balkan spectacle that vibrates with life. An award-winning film composer (The Time of the Gypsies, Underground, Queen Margot) and charismatic rock musician, the Sarajevo-born Bregovic presents his kaleidoscopic Wedding and Funeral Orchestra on his first U.S. tour. The 20-piece ensemble includes a Serbian gypsy brass band, classical strings and multiple vocalists. While rooted in the Southern Balkans, Bregovic is a man of the world and his music reflects his cosmopolitan identity, drawing on tango, reggae, jazz, funk and more. Don’t miss the exclusive Bay Area appearance of what will no doubt become the talk of the town for months to come.
“Serbian Gypsy brass bands are party generators, and Mr. Bregovic’s compositions let them do their job.” —The New York Times
