SFJAZZ Spring Season 2006 • March 17-June 17, 2006

"Blue Trio" for SFJAZZ Spring Season 2005 and 2007

That debonair piano-man in our 2006 SFJAZZ Spring Season campaign image was painted by Mark Ulriksen, an award-winning San Francisco–based freelance illustrator and artist who is now in his second year as creator of SFJAZZ's spring imagery. Over the years, Mark’s work has appeared in most of America's leading magazines and newspapers, including Rolling Stone, Vibe, GQ, Entertainment Weekly, Time, Newsweek, and The New York Times. Since 1993, he has also been a regular contributor to The New Yorker, in which he has published more than 150 illustrations and more than 20 covers.

Mark specializes in figurative work that blends humor with psychological insight. In addition to magazine illustrations, Mark paints commissioned portraits, especially dog and family portraits.
