2015 SFJAZZ Poetry Festival: San Jose

During 2014 SFJAZZ Poetry Festival poets were able to “step out of the melting pot” as T.S. Casey put it, and embrace their ethnic histories. Italian, Spanish as well as American were spoken onstage. Some of the poems were poignant, but others were humorous. Italian American poet Giovanna Capone presented a poem about a Godzilla-like salami attacking the city of New York.

The theme of the 2015 SFJAZZ Poetry Festival is "The Cities Speak Of Poetry." Four nights of poetry from San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and Berkeley.

The third night of the 2015 Poetry Festival features a number of the great poets who call the South Bay home. A cultural melting pot, San Jose offers a unique view on the Bay Area experience, and these artists reflect this perspective.
