Resident Artistic Director Eric Harland plays Madden 15 in Miner Auditorium

Voyager with Live Videogamers

For the first-ever performance combining the improvisation of gaming and jazz, Eric Harland’s Voyager band and members of the supremely funky Snarky Puppy play live in a Big Game video game spectacular, as two of Major League Gaming’s best players go head-to-head in a Madden NFL 15 matchup of the classic "Battle of the Bay" (49ers vs. Raiders), accompanied by live commentators. In his role as an SFJAZZ Resident Artistic Director, Harland wanted to bring together his passions for music, sports and gaming, and this show presents a unique opportunity for fans of all three to come together as the musicians accompany and react to the action projected on the Miner Auditorium screen. One of the greatest drummers on the national scene and a huge sports fan, Harland has recently released his second album with the Voyager project, Vipassana.
