Adam Theis’ Mingus Ah Um Project

The passionate trombonist and his crew dig into the music on Charles Mingus’ explosive 1959 classic, Mingus Ah Um, with its gospel, bird calls, Jelly Roll and blues, the mocking “Fables of Faubus” and the moving ballad for Lester Young, “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.”
