Zakir Hussain

No one artist has done more to cultivate and expand the reach of Indian classical music than tabla master Ustad Zakir Hussain. In his first year as Resident Artistic Director at SFJAZZ, Hussain will present a pastiche of his recent explorations with jazz and world music while sharing the wealth of his masterful skills with young audiences. This special performance will highlight the genre-defying artistry of one of the world’s most prolific percussionists.

Family Workshop w/ Doug Goodkin & Friends
Joe Henderson Lab, 12:15-1:15pm

Families will enjoy this interactive experience with renowned Orff music expert and educator Doug Goodkin along with Sam Heminger, Joshi Marshall and Micah McClean.
