Mary Mary

Ever since the gospel superstar siblings Erica and Tina Campbell broke into the mainstream with their massive hit “Shackles (Praise You)” at the turn of the century, the profile of these multiple Grammy Award winners has continued to grow. With their signature mix of thrilling vocal harmonies, classic gospel tradition and bass-pumping urban grooves, the sisters have established themselves as the dominant act in contemporary gospel music. Following the explosive release of their 2000 debut, Thankful, Mary Mary has performed at the White House, made countless television appearances and recorded six smash albums, even making time to write a pair of bestselling books. The duo’s latest Columbia release, Something Big, is yet another blockbuster and they took home the coveted Best Gospel Award from BET this year. To the Paramount, the sisters bring a stirring holiday-themed gospel show drawing on their phenomenal 2006 album, A Mary Mary Christmas, as well as new material from Something Big. This will be an inspiring evening of sacred soul, guaranteed to raise the roof and lift the spirit — no doubt about it!

"Every note seems perfectly calculated to deliver as much pleasure as possible. " — PopMatters
"There were skipping Antillean beats; hard electric funk; Motown grooves; ’80s prog-rock and ’90s Christian rock; R&B as it is currently known and as it was 60 years ago; and straight-shouting, improvised, testifying church business. " — The New York Times

Opening this sanctified evening will be the red-hot a capella gospel sextet Committed, 2010 winner of NBC’s hit music competition series The Sing-Off. Since their dramatic win, the rise of this Alabama singing sensation has been meteoric, highlighted by an appearance at the NAACP Image Awards with gospel legend Mavis Staples and the release of their self-titled Epic debut, which features inspiring originals and spectacular versions of songs by Al Green, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire and Maxwell.
