Join SFJAZZ Collective saxophonist Miguel Zenón in a guided listening as he shares insights on Wonder’s career and how the Collective has tackled his compositions for their upcoming tour. A Native of Puerto Rico, Zenón got his start at the famed Escuela Libre de Musica and later studied at Boston's Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. Since his move to New York he has worked with Charlie Haden, David Sanchez and Steve Coleman, among others. In 2008, he was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in composition and was one of 25 individuals to receive the prestigious MacArthur Grant. Zenón has released five CDs as a leader and his latest, Esta Plena, was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2009.
