Fall Festival Recap
Many thanks to the SFJAZZ Members, volunteers, sponsors, and jazz fans who came out in the thousands to make the 24th San Francisco Jazz Festival a phenomenal success. The four-week Festival featured performances from jazz masters (Sonny Rollins, Alice Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal), international superstars (Marisa Monte, Arturo Sandoval, Ana Moura), local luminaries (Mary Stallings, Lavay Smith, Myra Melford), and rising stars (Miguel Zenón, Stefon Harris).
We’ve prepared a photo gallery to keep the memories swinging just a little longer.
While we’re reminiscing, we’d really like to know what you thought about the 24th Festival. What were your favorite shows? What would you like to see next year? How can we make the Festival better, and what should we do exactly the same? Please fill out our brief survey:

Jazzy Gifts for the Holidays
The holidays are all about giving, and now you can give in two ways at once: every gift membership, SFJAZZ gift certificate, or item of SFJAZZ merchandise is also a gift to SFJAZZ, as all profits go directly towards supporting the music you love.
One gift that’s perennially atop jazz fans’ wish lists is the latest SFJAZZ Collective CD. Live 2006: 3rd Annual Concert Tour, the SFJAZZ Collective's third limited-edition, multi-disc release, is the quintessential document of the all-star ensemble’s 2006 tour. It features the Collective’s entire repertoire of original tunes and all-new explorations of Herbie Hancock’s compositions. It’s the same repertoire that earned the group recognition as the “#1 Rising Star Jazz Band” in this year’s DownBeat Critics Poll. It’s the perfect size for stocking stuffing and also looks quite handsome wrapped up under a tree.
With the SFJAZZ Spring Season just around the bend, a gift membership is an especially timely present. SFJAZZ Members have exclusive access to the best seats at every price level, Members-only shows like Ladysmith Black Mambazo (1/26), and many more benefits. Tickets for the Spring Season go on sale to SFJAZZ Members December 16, and to the general public January 7. So give a friend—or yourself—the gift of membership and get a leg up on Spring!
You should also consider an SFJAZZ gift certificate, which allows jazz fans to pick and choose their “can’t miss” shows, or choose from our classic range of SFJAZZ Threads, including the ever-popular SFJAZZ Zip-Hoodie.
