Be sure to peruse our scintillating Fall Festival ‘06 schedule as you browse the new site. The 2006 San Francisco Jazz Festival will feature acts like: Sonny Rollins, Alice Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, and Arturo Sandoval—plus an SFJAZZ Members-Only solo performance by piano great Toshiko Akiyoshi. Featuring more than 50 events over the space of 13 weekends, the SFJAZZ Spring Season was, by any measure, a rousing triumph. The Spring Season featured stunning individual performances from Keith Jarrett, Pharoah Sanders, Savion Glover and Eartha Kitt, as well as the adventurous harmonies of The Bulgarian Women’s Choir and, of course, the SFJAZZ Collective’s provocative take on the catalog of Herbie Hancock and their own innovative compositions.

Perhaps no accolade is more apt a summary than that doled out by the Contra Costa Times: “a sumptuous musical feast with a bracing balance between international fare and revered American jazz artists.”
