SFJAZZ Collective Update
Pre-Order and Save on New CD; New Members Lovano & Harris; Members-only Discount for ’08 Collective Concert
SFJAZZ is preparing to release Live 2007, the definitive record of this all-star ensemble’s fourth year. This limited-edition two-disc set features the Collective’s entire 2007 repertoire, including the music of Thelonious Monk and Collective-members’ own original compositions. Pre-order before June 30 and save 15%.
This summer marks the SFJAZZ Collective’s first outing on the European jazz festival circuit. Joining the group will be a pair of eminent new musicians: Grammy-winning saxophonist Joe Lovano (replacing Joshua Redman), called “one of the greatest musicians in jazz history” by The New York Times; and acclaimed vibraphonist Stefon Harris (replacing Bobby Hutcherson), whom the Los Angeles Times calls “one of the significant jazz players of the new century.”
In 2008, the new Collective line-up will give its only Bay Area concert at U.C. Berkeley’s Zellerbach Hall on March 15 as part of Cal Performances’ 2007-2008 season. A limited number of tickets for this concert are being reserved just for SFJAZZ Members—at a generous 10% discount. These Members-only tickets will go on sale July 29 at 1 p.m.—two weeks before general public sales begin on August 12.
To take advantage of this special offer, SFJAZZ Members should log into the sfjazz.org Membership Page, where you’ll find complete ordering details and a discount code. Or call the SFJAZZ Box Office at (415) 788-7353 for the special code and details.
Note: Tickets for this concert are available only through Cal Performances—not through the SFJAZZ Box Office.
