The 55th Annual DownBeat Critics Poll has been released and a number of San Francisco Jazz Festival artists are singled out for praise:

Ornette Coleman (right)- "Jazz Artist", "Jazz Album" (Sound Grammar), and "Alto Saxophonist of the Year"

Toots Thielemans - "Miscellaneous Instruement (Harmonica)"

Jason Moran's Bandwagon - "Rising Star Jazz Group"

Anat Cohen - "Rising Star Clarinet"

Lionel Loueke (w/Herbie Hancock) - "Rising Star Guitar"

In other news, Issac Delgado's new band was praised in a recent New York Times review.
