Festival Legends return to kick off 25th Anniversary Fest

This fall, the San Francisco Jazz Festival celebrates its 25th Anniversary by welcoming back a handful of celebrated artists from a quarter century of legendary jazz performances. The opening fortnight alone features four vital acts—Ornette Coleman, Kronos Quartet, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Toots Thielemans—that are emblematic of the trailblazing spirit that has been a hallmark of the Festival since its earliest days. Pre-Concert Talks take jazz fans inside the music through compelling, spontaneous conversations. Listen in as two fall Festival artists, Jason Moran and T.S. Monk, talk about the influence of Thelonious Monk in this new SFJAZZ Podcast, recorded at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre on May 19, 2007.
