Digital Marketing Specialist
Do you love jazz music? Do you also find yourself interested in the latest social media and online trends? The SFJAZZ Marketing Department is hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist to manage, develop, and implement creative new strategies to grow the organization’s online presence through our social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram). This is a great opportunity for someone who’s passionate about music, and also interested in creating engaging online content for a forward-thinking jazz organization. This position also helps assist the Web Producer in maintaining the SFJAZZ Website, capturing and preparing live and behind-the-scenes photos, and developing interesting content for the SFJAZZ Blog ‘On The Corner’. We are looking for creative and self-motivated individuals that will help SFJAZZ continue to be a leader in digital content.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage SFJAZZ’s social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, & new platforms
- Develops and implement forward-thinking social media strategies to grow the organizations overall online engagement & followership
- Create and build creative online campaigns that reach new audiences through native marketing, third-party collaborations, and new online trends
- Assist in cropping graphic elements for the web site and social media platforms
- Search and locate appropriate and compelling musician You Tube videos for the SFJAZZ website
- Support Web Producer in ongoing content updates to the SFJAZZ web site, and email campaigns
- Organize and manage marketing assets for artists: images, booking info, questionnaires
- Assist the Web Producer on maintaining the SFJAZZ Blog Editorial Calendar by developing engaging content
- Scan the environment for digital trends that can be successfully adapted for SFJAZZ website and other online initiatives
- Capture and upload behind-the-scenes and concert photos on a needed basis
- Presenting forward-thinking digital/online recommendations to the Marketing team
- Owning and maintaining social media analytics, metrics, and campaign reporting
- Respond to social media comments and interactions in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively and professionally within the Marketing team and within the organization at large.
- Any other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 2-3 year’s experience in Marketing and managing social media for a professional organization
- Ability to implement marketing strategies using social media
- Great understanding of digital and social media trends
- Must be detail-oriented but have the ability to think cross-organizationally
- Good knowledge in jazz and jazz-related music
- Experience working with content management systems
- Good Photoshop skills
- Understanding of basic to intermediate HTML skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Takes initiative on proposing new creative digital marketing ideas and strategies

The budget for the 2018-19 Season is more than $18 million with more than half coming from ticket revenues.
