Digital Membership Manager

SUMMARY
The Digital Membership Manager oversees acquisition, retention, and stewardship of all members enrolling in the SFJAZZ Digital membership program, (currently consisting of 10,000 households who have joined since launch in March 2020, with 50% living outside the Bay Area and representing over 30 countries). This is an exciting opportunity to drive the evolution of one of our organization’s most important patron groups. Success in this role includes the ability to synthesize and adapt to trends in both the for-profit and non-profit digital arts and marketing spaces, a proactive desire to identify, target and engage a curious and passionate base of music fans, and the ability to inspire thoughtful and creative collaboration with staff in the Development, Marketing, Box Office, Operations, and Artistic departments. 

ABOUT SFJAZZ
SFJAZZ is one of the world’s most popular presenters of jazz. The SFJAZZ Center is a beautiful stage for jazz artists and the community to celebrate the living American art form of jazz. The $64 million Center launched in 2013 and the 37-year-old non-profit organization now crafts distinguished programming and education services from the heart of the San Francisco arts district. In March 2020, SFJAZZ launched its initial digital offering Fridays at Five and is poised to expand the SFJAZZ membership experience with a suite of new digital programs in late 2020.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES to comprise scope of work include:

• Identify and target potential SFJAZZ Digital Members, by developing and implementing seasonal and annual communications and marketing plans and campaigns for the efficient acquisition and retention of SFJAZZ Digital Members. 
• Collaborate closely with various SFJAZZ departments, as well as outside agencies and vendor partners, in creating and executing a coordinated content strategy across all organizational channels, including email, SFJAZZ.org and related sites, digital advertising and social media; Facilitate meetings, timelines, and communication across projects.
• Improve user experience throughout the SFJAZZ Digital and SFJAZZ.org platforms.
• Design, develop, and write compelling appeals and copy for all membership materials.
• Analyze membership trends and efficacy of direct response efforts; Measure and report performance of digital campaigns and assess against goals; Identify trends and insights, and optimize budget and performance accordingly.
• Create visualizations to present data and proposed optimizations.
• Research, identify, and develop new strategies for increasing giving amongst current donors, renewing and acquiring donors, and diversifying membership; Plan, execute, and measure offers, experiments, and conversion tests.
• Ensure seamless fulfillment of benefits for Members, including technology and systems updates, training front-line customer service staff, and tracking use of benefits.
• Evaluate emerging technologies.
• Represent SFJAZZ in the concert halls and in the community, and at donor events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to five years’ experience managing a robust membership/loyalty program for a cultural or entertainment-focused organization, or a direct-to-consumer commercial business.
• Two years’ experience in digital customer acquisition and engagement campaigns.
• Demonstrated experience with direct response tactics and analysis for digital, A/B testing techniques, data visualization and presentation.
• Extensive experience with customer relationship management databases.
• Creative, conceptual, and donor-centric thinking.
• Strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects.
• Ability to work well with diverse personalities across position levels and departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Interest in jazz and related music preferred.

Working Conditions:
The work schedule varies from customary office hours to unpredictable hours, with the potential for long hours during critical periods and special events. This job occasionally requires work during evenings and weekends.

Salary:
The salary will be based upon professional and academic experience.
