Digital Projects Manager

As a member of SFJAZZ's team, the Digital Projects Manager will maintain and administer the digital media plan for SFJAZZ’s content distribution and membership products. This includes responsibility for the entire product lifecycle:  Projects include long-form on demand streaming video, radio shows, short form direct to download videos, “Music Minus 1” application, and others to be determined. Additionally this position will oversee production of “teaser” videos to be published on the SFJAZZ YouTube page and other social media platforms in order to drive traffic to our digital products. The right candidate is a jazz lover who will embrace the SFJAZZ vision and mission, and have an entrepreneurial view of SFJAZZ’s digital assets and platforms in order to keep them relevant and robust in the marketplace.

SFJAZZ is one of the world’s most popular and important presenters of jazz. The SFJAZZ Center is a beautiful and perfect stage for jazz artists and the community to celebrate the living American art form of jazz. The $64 million Center launched in 2013 and the 34-year-old non-profit organization now crafts distinguished programming and education services from the heart of the San Francisco arts district.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Manage the process for defining the products, strategy, and roadmap for a long-term, insightful digital media program including short and medium term goals.

Deliver Product and Marketing Requirements documents with prioritized paths and corresponding justifications. 

Coordinate the digital media output between Artistic, Marketing, and Development departments.

Oversee the creation of short and long form videos for the digital platform in conjunction with Production and coordinating outside labor for production as needed.

Produce a radio show and video content.

Ensure communication flows efficiently and effectively between departments; goals are clear and stakeholders are looped in as needed; and own the process of executing our digital products. Work with SFJAZZ’s marketing department to maximize traffic on SFJAZZ social media and digital platforms, including “trailers” for SFJAZZ’s YouTube Channel. Keep track of key details and ensure everyone knows where the project stands. 

Work with external third parties to provide technology oversight to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

Manage and organize SFJAZZ’s archive of audio/video recordings.

Maintains technical knowledge to offer insights, advice and direction to third party engineers and SFJAZZ staff. 

Create and develop with our Development team a digital membership program.

Launch new digital distribution program in accordance to current program

Bring new ideas to the table that will help SFJAZZ’s digital initiatives become sustainable and reach a wider audience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

● A minimum of 4 years experience

● Demonstrated success of bringing products to launch (media experience a plus)

● Built and delivered a product from scratch, ideally without a pre-existing infrastructure

● Delivered content experiences over multiple technologies and platforms

● Great written and oral communication skills

● Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

● Ability to identify and define core requirements

● A keen understanding of analytics and the ability to identify key metrics to measure projects

● A user-centric approach to product

  

WORKING CONDITIONS

Evening work is often required.

SALARY RANGE

Commensurate based on experience.
