Senior Web Manager
SUMMARY
The Senior Web Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of SFJAZZ’s website (SFJAZZ.org), including managing top-level UX/UI experience, overall site navigation, developing new custom page layouts/templates, and providing expertise on website development. This position will also, at times, assist and provide guidance to the Web Producer with content updates and large web builds (ie. annual season concert production detail pages). This position will also help assist in the growth of SFJAZZ Digital by providing web oversight for all new offerings with the goal in improving member retention and acquisition, as well as provide strong support to the online communication needs of both the Development and Education Departments. This position is the primary liaison and manages communication with third-party web partner Adage Technologies on organizing web priorities and feature development.
ABOUT SFJAZZ
SFJAZZ is one of the world’s most popular and important presenters of jazz, presenting over 450 concerts per year to more than 250,000 music fans. The SFJAZZ Center is a beautiful and perfect stage for jazz artists and the community to celebrate the living American art form of jazz. The $64 million Center launched in 2013 and the 38-year-old non-profit organization now crafts distinguished programming and education services from the heart of the San Francisco arts district. In March of 2020, SFJAZZ launched its digital expansion featuring weekly archival ‘Fridays At Five’ broadcasts, select monthly on demand full concerts, and live stream performances from the SFJAZZ Center. This expansion will continue even with the return of live performances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight on all website pages and overall UX/UI
- Project managing and assisting the construction of web pages that support year-round shows and education events
- Provide standard page template designs for digital programming, membership, and institutional pages on an ongoing basis
- Oversees sitewide navigation
- Standardizes website branding, CTAs, and page layouts
- Primary liaison and manages communication with third-party web firm on developing advanced new website features and infrastructure/hosting issues
- Is in-house expert on all site-related questions, advises on technical strategy for digital expansion, and optimizing cart path
- Outline user conversion journeys for new and returning users
- Scan the environment for digital trends that can be successfully adapted for SFJAZZ website and other online initiatives
- Works closely with Digital, Development, and the Digital Membership Manager to enhance the website to ensure growth in Member retention and acquisition
- Presents forward-thinking digital/online recommendations and feature improvements/builds to Marketing, Digital, and Executive
- Works collaboratively and professionally within the Marketing team and within the organization at large.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years professional experience (in-house and/or freelance) in Web Development, and UX/UI design related to Marketing
- Positive, upbeat attitude and team-player approach to work environment
- Self-initiated trouble-shooting and problem-solving abilities
- Extensive and current knowledge of web standards
- Expert knowledge of best practices for UX/UI design
- Ability to test functionality and maintain design consistency across platforms and browsers including mobile
- Demonstrable web and design skills with expert knowledge of the following computer programs and languages:
- HTML5/CSS3
- Advance experience working with a CMS
- .NET framework (C#, VB.NET, C++ and F#) a plus
- Advance understanding of web-based graphics and video optimization
- Producing web pages in a CMS environment (ie EpiServer)
- Current knowledge of best practices for search engine optimization (SEO)
- Knowledge in digital video creation a plus
- Experience working with Tessitura or other ticketing database is a plus
- Experience working in project management software systems Asana or JIRA is a plus
- Entertainment experience is a plus, as well as an interest in jazz; however, not required
