Trumpeter, composer and bandleader Keyon Harrold sits down with SFJAZZ Executive Artistic Director Terence Blanchard. Harrold discusses his approach to writing melodies, as well as how the bebop influence passed down to him by Charles Tolliver has affected his work with artists such as Common and D'Angelo. Keyon's performance is a part of Terence Blanchard's Upswing series on September 21, 2024, and will be featured on Fridays Live (SFJAZZ At Home) on November 9.
