10th Annual Girls Day Workshop
In honor of Women’s History Month, SFJAZZ Education is pleased to continue a Bay Area tradition of advocacy for emerging female and gender expansive youth with our 10th annual Girls Day workshop! A focus of this special session will highlight the importance of developing musical independence, providing students with tools and techniques to strengthen your musicianship. Joining our amazing faculty for this hands-on session for jazz instrumentalists and vocalists is renowned alto saxophonist and composer Caroline Davis. Whether you are just beginning in your musical journey or are already performing, this workshop is designed to help you cultivate your creativity and independence!

SFJAZZ’s Education Department welcomes nationally renowned spoken word poets and jazz musicians to celebrate the youth we serve. This event will feature students from Jazz in the Middle, SFJAZZ’s premiere middle school arts programs, student musicians, youth poets from the Bay Area, and our star-studded staff of Teaching Artists for an afternoon of poetry, jazz and reflection on how these art forms work together to move us toward a brighter future.
