Native–American Night

Following last year’s thought-provoking inauguration of the Poetry Festival, SFJAZZ Poet Laureate Ishmael Reed curates the second happening, made powerful by the collective improvisation between words and music. Prominent Bay Area poets of Native American heritage have been invited to showcase their work Saturday, hosted by poet Jennifer Foerster, author of the heralded new poetry collection, Leaving Tulsa. Poets include Cedar Sigo, Tria Andrews, Moon Flower, accompanied by esteemed musician and educator John-Carlos Perea.
