Talk about a global party! Had friends in town for the 2009 show and we are still talking about it - it felt like being home for Carnival. Felt so connected with a crowd of strangers... sang along in a language I don't speak, but which I felt and I understood... basked (and danced) happily in the real and sincere feel of the music...

India.Arie has a few songs that have lingered in my soul for years - ever since I bought her first CD in 2001. Idan's music is rich and moving, and during his riveting show at SFJAZZ a few years ago, the percussionist did a gourd-water drumming sequence that was incredible! Experiencing these two together, live, will be complete bliss.

I absolutely love listening to these ultra-talented and ultra-motivated young musicians play. They definitely fuel my "hope for the future" flame — probably because they play so amazingly well right now, in the present! The Combo and the Jazz Orchestra shows are both a must see on my list.

This was one of the first SFJAZZ shows that I attended — loved it! I think I was tapping my feet with such focus that I had to force myself to remember to breathe.

I'm looking forward to becoming a new fan of Huun Huur Tu — I've got a feeling that I'll sit there entranced through the whole thing, acutely aware of every cell in my being, every note gliding by, and every molecule of air floating happily through my lungs.
