Vocalist and composer Tiffany Austin has quickly become a force in jazz, with an ebullient style and soulful eloquence that honor the vocal greats while pushing forward in search of new territory. Her 2018 release, Unbroken (on the Con Alma Music label), celebrates the indelible link between jazz and the blues, and showcases her talents in the lineage of Bessie Smith and Betty Carter. We kick off our matinee series with the transformative power of song and honor the instrument we all share: the voice!

Family Matinee Broadcasts are a monthly membership-based online concert series that shares the magic of live performances from the SFJAZZ Center and brings people closer to the music, while providing support for artists through exclusive hour-long broadcasts on the second Sunday of every month at 11 AM PT. Performers share their insights, encourage audience participation, and provide important context for young listeners while celebrating all that jazz continues to offer. These affordably priced family-friendly concerts are a great way for you to pass your love of jazz onto the next generation.
