Drawing on the band’s global background (Greece, Argentina, Japan, Colombia, USA), Banda Magda combines South American rhythms with jazz improvisation, cinematic arranging, audience participation, mid-century classics, and world music sung in 6 languages!

Family Matinee Broadcasts are a monthly membership-based online concert series that shares the magic of live performances from the SFJAZZ Center and brings people closer to the music, while providing support for artists through exclusive hour-long broadcasts on the second Sunday of every month at 11 AM PT. Performers share their insights, encourage audience participation, and provide important context for young listeners while celebrating all that jazz continues to offer. These affordably priced family-friendly concerts are a great way for you to pass your love of jazz onto the next generation.
