In 2020, SFJAZZ presented a historic Fridays At Five Wayne Shorter Celebration concert series with Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, Branford Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Terrace Martin, Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, Brian Blade, and more. The series was recorded over four nights at the SFJAZZ Center in January of 2019 as a tribute to the legendary saxophonist and composer, who at the time had become ill and was unable to perform that week.
