SFJAZZ Education offers two exciting jazz performance programs for advanced players. Whether you are an aspiring professional, a current high school student, a business professional with an urge to keep music in your after-work life, or are simply looking to play in a hip community setting, we invite you to audition and be a part of our critically-acclaimed ensembles!

A pre-professional training program for current Bay Area high school age jazz musicians. Comprising two ensembles - the Orchestra and the Combo - the All-Stars rehearse and perform throughout the school year at the SFJAZZ Center, receive mentor-ship and clinics with leading jazz professionals, record a professional studio album, and appear at prestigious music festivals and competitions.

A community ensemble for advanced level musicians ranging in age from 14 to 75, directed by multi instrumentalist, bandleader and composer Adam Theis. This 12-week program highlights classic to contemporary jazz arrangements as well as original repertoire composed by the students themselves, and each session culminates in a free public performance at the beautiful SFJAZZ Center Miner Auditorium.

A limited number of full and partial need-based scholarships are available to all programs. Please contact SFJAZZ Education for info: scholarships@sfjazz.org.
