In association with the Mex-I-Am Festival, this week celebrates the rich musical diversity of Mexico, expressed from the unique perspectives of both native Mexican artists and Mexican-American musicians and encompassing folkloric traditions as well as contemporary influences.

This week focuses on the music that emerged from the American South, centering on New Orleans and the zydeco music of south Louisiana in Miner Auditorium, as well as the brass band tradition celebrated over four nights in the Joe Henderson Lab.
