Playlist: Afro-Cuban 101

This month's video playlist is curated by Buena Vista Social Club founder and Afro-Cuban All Stars bandleader Juan De Marcos. From vintage concert footage dating back to the 1960s to new cutting-edge sounds of today’s Afro-Cuban vanguard, this video playlist is full of gems gathered by a true historian of Afro-Cuban music. You can catch Juan De Marcos with the Afro-Cuban All-Stars live at the SFJAZZ Center on July 11-14, 2024. The concert will also be livestreamed on Fridays Live on July 12th, part of SFJAZZ At Home.
