FEB 6-9 | Jason Moran: Music of Duke Ellington
Feb 06 - Feb 09, 2025
Miner Auditorium
“A startlingly gifted pianist with a relentless thirst for experimentation” (Los Angeles Times), Jason Moran has consistently presented some of the most exciting and memorable performances in SFJAZZ’s history. For this weeklong residency, Moran is joined by the superbly dynamic New Orchestra of fellow SFJAZZ Resident Artistic Director emeritus and Bay Area jazz great Marcus Shelby for concerts dedicated to the big band compositions of the iconic Duke Ellington — jazz’s greatest composer and a constant source of inspiration to both artists.
