Founding SFJAZZ Collective alto saxophonist Miguel Zenón presents the world premiere of Golden City Suite, his musical tribute to the immigrant communities of San Francisco. In 2018, the Guggenheim Fellow and MacArthur “Genius Grant” recipient conducted interviews in San Francisco’s Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, African-American and other ethnic communities, composing a large-scale work based on those perspectives. The artist will share his personal journey and process with our audience during the Q&A.
NOTICE | COVID-19 VACCINATION
All audience members, staff and artists must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Prior to entering the SFJAZZ Center, you will be asked to provide proof of vaccination through a QR code generated by a Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record website, or an original physical vaccination card or photograph of it.
Vaccines are now available for children ages 5–11, and fully vaccinated children are welcome at the SFJAZZ Center two weeks after they have received their final dose. Proof of vaccination is REQUIRED, however photo ID for children under 12 is not needed as long as they are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents/guardians with valid photo ID.
