Hitomi Oba

Saxophonist Hitomi Oba plays and composes stylistically diverse music with an emphasis on integrating improvised and pre-composed music. As part of this weekend-long Joe Henderson Festival, Oba revisits and interprets some of Henderson’s iconic pieces and lasting influences. 

Other recent projects of Oba’s include a premiere by the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella series and a multi-genre cantata with her new music collective, L.A. Signal Lab.
