Original show description below.

The rising guitar master best known for work with Jason Mraz and Black Eyed Peas performs with her trio, blending the blues, country swing, modern jazz, and surf rock into her own signature style as heard on her newest album St. George.

Picking up the guitar at age seven, the Los Angeles-based Miller gained formative experience in her childhood family band that included drummer Sammy Miller, known to SFJAZZ audiences as leader of the rollicking jazz ensemble Sammy Miller and the Congregation, with whom the guitarist appeared during the 2017-18 Season.

Experiencing her “a-ha moment” upon experiencing the music of Jimi Hendrix as a teen, Miller realized she had found her calling, earning a Doctorate in Music from USC in 2016 and becoming chair of the guitar department at Los Angeles College of Music.

Her soulful soloing, rich harmonic sense and technical mastery earned a fan of GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter Jason Mraz, who employed the guitarist on his 2018 album Know. and subsequent world tour, as well as his 2020 follow-up Look for the Good.

Miller has also shared the stage with Black Eyed Peas, Donna Missal, and Morgxn, and leads her own trio with the husband-and-wife rhythm team of bassist Jennifer Condos (Stevie Nicks, Jackson Browne) and drummer Jay Bellerose (Allison Krauss, Robert Plant) who help bring her original compositions on St. George to life.

She slings the guitar like a wordsmith, wry and sarcastic with a playful slant and flows from hushed whisper to bursts of elation with aplomb.
