Desiree Cannon

Splitting her time between the Bay Area and the ranchland of the inland Central Coast county of San Benito as a youth, Cannon absorbed the high lonesome sound of vintage country music and the romance of old western novels — a wistful aesthetic that informs her music and makes her songs of heartbreak and redemption sound both intimately autobiographical and truly universal. Desiree pays tribute to the spirit of both the country and folk traditions, crafting music that is as vulnerable as it is strong-willed and fierce – she sings with the raw truth of the country greats, and the emotional depth of the often forgotten folk heroes.
