Original show description below.

The buzz-worthy 25-year-old vocalist has set the jazz world on fire after her second-place finish at the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, in which she wowed judges Dee Dee Bridgewater, Al Jarreau and Patti Austin with her evocative takes on “This Bitter Earth” from the Dinah Washington songbook and the classic standard “September in the Rain.”

A native of Charlottesville, North Carolina, the prodigious Swift made her recording debut at age 9 with saxophonist Richie Cole and has followed her muse ever since, recording her second album with tenor player Harry Allen, making her debut at Jazz at Lincoln Center at 11, and indulging her taste for 20s and 30s swing with the legendary Nighthawks band led by historian and musician Vince Giordano. The daughter of renowned pianist Hod O’Brien and singer Stephanie Nakasian, Swift has shared stages with Chris Botti, Michael Feinstein, Jon Hendricks, Paquito D’Rivera, Esperanza Spalding, and Joe Lovano, and released five albums including her sparking 2017 session Lonely Woman and forthcoming follow-up. Her most recent recording projects are in collaboration with saxophonist Jeff Rupert and pianist Benny Green. Don’t miss this young star on the rise, forging a path as jazz superstar in the making.
