FIRST-TIMER GUIDE

Can I bring the kids to an SFJAZZ show?
We recommend that you don’t bring children younger than ten to SFJAZZ shows, which tend to be too long for most young children. Kids of all ages can enjoy our Family Concerts. All children must have a ticket to be admitted to the show.

Where are the nearest ATMs?
Get cash fast by visiting a number of ATMs on Gough & Fell Streets (including Walgreens), but don't worry, credit cards are accepted at the SFJAZZ Center's Box Office, Gift shop, as well as all the lobby bars.

Is there handicap accessible seating in the auditorium?
Absolutely. The SFJAZZ Center is fully accessible to all patrons. To locate handicap accessible seats online, select the seats that feature a wheelchair symbol. To purchase handicap accessible seating over the phone, call our Box Office at 415.788.7353.

Are cameras allowed in the theatre?
No cameras or photography are allowed in the SFJAZZ Center.

Can I bring food and/or drinks into the auditorium?
You can bring drinks purchased at one of our lobby bars into the auditorium. Food is not allowed in the auditorium.

Are there food and drinks available at the SFJAZZ Center?
SFJAZZ Center has a number of lobby bars that serve both alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. Food is available at the B-Side Restaurant and Lounge.

What should I wear?
Have fun, dress up, put on your favorite hat or come casual. We kindly just ask that all patrons respect everyone attending the concert and avoid wearing anything offensive. Shirt and shoes are also required.

Does the SFJAZZ Center have a Lost & Found?
Articles lost or found will be held at the first floor Box Office until the end of the performance. If lost or found items are not claimed at the end of a performance please contact a customer service represenative at 415.788.7353, where you'll receive further instructions on how to reclaim your lost item.

What if I am late for a performance?
If you arrive at the SFJAZZ Center after the performance has begun you must wait in the lobby until there is a break. Once there is a break in the music, an usher will help you to your seat. While it is best to arrive early, you can sip on a glass of wine, take in the amazing murals in our lobby, or purchase some SFJAZZ merchandise while you wait. All bars will remain open during the performance.

What should I do with my cell phone?
No one wants to hear a personalized ring tone during a performance, so make sure and keep cell phone ring tones on silent. We also ask that patrons answer any phone calls either in the lobby or outside the SFJAZZ Center.

What's the best way to show my appreciation?
SFJAZZ encourages our patrons to express enthusiastic displays of appreciation during a performance. Jazz is all about improvisation, so feel free to show your enthusiasm after a smoking solo, clap along to a groove, or get up and dance near your seat.
