The New Orleans brass band tradition spread across the nation, and world, cross-pollinating with all kinds of sounds and styles. To celebrate "The Big Easy Blowout" week at SFJAZZ featuring New Breed Brass Band (FEB 6-7) and Cha Wa (FEB 8-9), we revamped our "Alt-Brass" playlist, featuring brass bands doing something a little different, from New Orleans to New York, Chicago, the Bay Area, India, and beyond.
