Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Junior Designer is responsible for brand management for SFJAZZ, design, production of advertising (online, print, digital and broadcast), collateral development, and graphics. This is a hands-on position requiring a positive attitude, organizational and communication skills, clear understanding of and experience in branding, the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, the talent to create compelling and appropriate design solutions, and the discipline to manage multiple large projects responsibly. This person works collaboratively with another Graphic Designer within the Marketing Department.
Major Gifts Officer
The Major Gifts Officer plays a critical role in increasing individual donor support, overseeing the solicitation of annual Leaders Circle gifts up to $25,000, with some gifts earmarked to SFJAZZ Education, SFJAZZ Gala packages, and planned gifts. Success will include creating a strong vision with donors of the impact that their investment can have on jazz music, through both personal communications and direct marketing approaches.
Digital Projects Manager
As a member of SFJAZZ's team, the Digital Projects Manager will maintain and administer the digital media plan for SFJAZZ’s content distribution and membership products. This includes responsibility for the entire product lifecycle: Projects include long-form on demand streaming video, radio shows, short form direct to download videos, “Music Minus 1” application, and others to be determined. Additionally this position will oversee production of “teaser” videos to be published on the SFJAZZ YouTube page and other social media platforms in order to drive traffic to our digital products. The right candidate is a jazz lover who will embrace the SFJAZZ vision and mission, and have an entrepreneurial view of SFJAZZ’s digital assets and platforms in order to keep them relevant and robust in the marketplace.
Artist Assistant (On Call)
The SFJAZZ Artist Assistant is an entry-level on-call position that provides crucial support to the stage manager and the artists during an SFJAZZ event, both on-site at the SFJAZZ Center and off-site at various Bay Area venues. He/she is responsible for the coordination of artist hospitality and acts as a liaison between the artists and Stage Manager. It is essential that the Artist Assistant have excellent organizational skills. Key areas of emphasis for this position include hospitality setup management (i.e. dressing rooms, catering, etc.), good time management, and having professional and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with the artists and Stage Manager.
Event Technician (On Call)
The SFJAZZ Event Technician is an entry-level position that provides crucial support to all SFJAZZ Events produced by the Artistic, Education, Development and Rentals departments in addition to assisting the Facilities/Operations department, as needed. This candidate is responsible for insuring high quality; customer service centered event support.
