Human Resources Manager
SFJAZZ is seeking a Human Resource Manager to create and maintain an employee-oriented team with everyone working towards the same goal and realizing the same vision: to be a recognized international leader in jazz creation, presentation, and education. The successful candidate will embody our organization’s core values of Discover, Inspire, and Celebrate. The Human Resources Manager will report to the Director of Finance in assuming the responsibilities of recruitment, performance management, employee relations, legal compliance and being a key partner for the organization by supporting growth strategies through HR activities, programs, and initiatives.
The SFJAZZ Event Technician is an entry-level position that provides crucial support to all SFJAZZ Events produced by the Artistic, Education, Development and Rentals departments in addition to assisting the Facilities/Operations department, as needed. This candidate is responsible for insuring high quality; customer service centered event support.
As a member of the Development team, the Events Associate will help plan, coordinate, and execute over 30 fundraising and stewardship events essential to the organization’s fundraising goals, including a variety of Leaders Circle and Membership events such as Listening Parties, receptions, Artists Dinners, and our annual Gala. The Events Associate will serve in a support capacity to the Associate Director, Development Events and will ensure that development events are executed consistently and professionally. This position is the primary liaison between the Development, Production, and Operations departments as well as outside parties involved in special events, and is central to effective communication for the department. The Events Associate will gain an excellent understanding of how a major arts presenter effectively builds a donor base through special events and will expand their knowledge of event planning and fundraising in this exciting role.
The Controller reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for performing accounting duties as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department. The Controller manages multiple accounting staff in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, gift recording, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger maintenance, and tax compliance. They are directly responsible for all aspects of preparing the monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the preparation of the annual operating budget.
Corporate Partnerships Manager
The Corporate Partnerships Manager designs and implements strategies to attract and maintain corporate cash and in-kind gifts, and develops a reliable revenue stream for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will execute all aspects of the corporate sponsorship plan, including research and identification of prospects; cultivation and relationship management of the portfolio; proposal development and solicitation; and benefit fulfillment of all sponsorship agreements. Success will include the ability to identify compelling engagement opportunities suited to both SFJAZZ and corporate objectives and synthesize those opportunities into strategic partnership plans.
School Programs Lead Teaching Artist
SFJAZZ is hiring a Lead Teaching Artist to facilitate and contribute to the development of our School Programs. SFJAZZ School Programs include School Day Concerts, Jazz in the Middle, and Jazz in Session. The Lead Teaching Artist contributes to curriculum development, the cultivation of school site partnerships, and facilitates residency and concert programs.
Contract Teaching Artists: Jazz in the Middle School Program
SFJAZZ is hiring teaching artists to co-teach Jazz in the Middle residencies during the school year in San Francisco and Oakland. SFJAZZ staff and current team of artists will provide curriculum and training.
