Due to a scheduling conflict, SFJAZZ High School All-Stars' Spring Concert is changing from Saturday, May 11th to Sunday, May 12th at 2PM

Our amazing High School All-Stars represent some of the most talented youth in the Bay Area, and we couldn’t be prouder of them! For their annual spring concert, the Combo and Big Band present an exciting program of classic to contemporary repertoire along with stunning original works by the band members themselves. Come witness the next generation of jazz ambassadors and support these amazing young musicians! Joining the All-Stars as our special guest artist is acclaimed flutist and vocalist Elena Pinderhughes

ABOUT ELENA PINDERHUGHES
Elena Ayodele Pinderhughes is not only an award-winning vocalist, flutist, composer, and songwriter, she is an alumnus of the High School All-Stars program! A stunningly lyrical flutist and vocalist, her style seamlessly blends jazz, hip-hop, and R&B influences, reflecting her diverse musical upbringing and open-minded approach to music.

Raised in the Bay Area, Elena moved to New York to study at The Manhattan School of Music and immediately began recording, touring and performing with artists in multiple genres, including a feature on the 2015 release Stretch Music by Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. She has appeared with an eclectic range of artists including Common, Herbie Hancock, Terrace Martin, Hubert Laws, Kenny Barron, Stefon Harris, Lionel Loueke, Terri Lyne Carrington, Josh Groban, Esperanza Spalding, Vijay Iyer, Future and many others.

Elena is featured on Terri Lyne Carrington’s Grammy Winning album New Standards, and has been described by The Guardian as “the most exciting and creatively assured jazz flutist to have emerged in years.” She has performed in venues and festivals, including Carnegie Hall, the White House, Kennedy Center, Coachella Music Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Marciac Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival and many others. We are delighted to welcome Elena back to the SFJAZZ Center!
