SFJAZZ Gala 2020 After Party is an all access bash—multiple simultaneous, raucous performances, premium open bars, late night bites, hangs with Gala artists, posh lounges, & more—we’re not messing around!
All proceeds benefit SFJAZZ artistic and education programs. SFJAZZ reaches nearly 250,000 fans through over 500 concerts annually, highlighting legends and emerging stars through curated programming. SFJAZZ educates and inspires over 23,000 students each year through a range of free and low-cost programs at the SFJAZZ Center, in classrooms, and communities throughout the Bay Area.

TJ Gorton
A compulsive vinyl collector at heart, TJ Gorton has been actively deejaying for over 15 years, hosting numerous nights throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Specializing in jazz, funk, Brazilian, and rare African music, the Berkeley resident has opened for Roy Ayers, Charles Bradley, Maceo Parker, Orgone, Jason Moran and many others. TJ is also the Director of Marketing at SFJAZZ, and runs the vinyl website BeatCaffeine. He has released eleven twelve-inch singles, and his record collection has been featured in The Vinyl Factory‘s ‘Home Grown’ series.

Weekend Girl (Alison Sloman) turns her penchant for vinyl record digging into a friendly hang with serious potential to make you move. “What it’s all about is just getting together and listening to some great songs.” Taking a heavy lean on the old school R&B that raised her, she infuses her set with everything from Ethiopian jazz to Brazilian Boogie.
