Having performed at Coachella and a NPR Tiny Desk Concert, this Latin GRAMMY-winning, New York-based ensemble is one of the finest all-female mariachi groups on the planet, with “a performance style that captures all the power and emotion you'd hope for.” (NPR Music). Founded by vocalist and string player Mireya Ramos, the group began as a trio named for the delirium-inducing Mexican flower used as a love potion for generations. As it has grown in notoriety, the band has expanded to as many as ten members depending on the setting, forming a truly global ensemble with musicians hailing from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Australia, Colombia, Germany, Italy, and the United States.

Performances around the world as a headlining act followed, along with an extensive tour of Europe and the U.S. with Black Keys mastermind Dan Auerbach’s new band, the Arcs, culminating in appearances with them on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Later with Jools Holland. The band’s self-titled debut received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Ranchera Album, and the band make guest appearances on albums by Snarky Puppy guitarist Chris McQueen, Broadway star Luba Mason, and L.A. rock band Chicano Batman. Their new album Las Caras Lindas (The Pretty Faces) expands the group’s sound even further, with more elaborate arrangements that touch on a wide-open sphere of influences.
