The San Francisco–based Kronos Quartet is thrilled to present the return of its annual KRONOS FESTIVAL to live, in-person performance. This year’s 3-day/night showcase is inspired by the Bay Area’s rich diversity and continues Kronos’ commitment to artistic and cultural breadth—with featured composers and guest artists representing 10 nations.
This free performance features student musicians from around the Bay Area performing works from Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, including several arrangements by Festival Artist-in-Residence Jacob Garchik.
For nearly 50 years, San Francisco's Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet has reimagined and redefined the string quartet experience. Kronos' annual festival spotlights an eclectic mix of new and signature works.
KRONOS' FIFTY FOR THE FUTURE is a free library of fifty contemporary works designed to guide string quartets in developing and honing the skills required for the performance of 21st-century repertoire.
