SFJAZZ At Home FAQ
Fridays Live
-
We recommend using Chrome or Firefox browsers to watch Fridays Live. Most playback issues tend to occur while using the Safari browser.
› Make sure your internet connection is stable. If your internet connection is not stable, and you happen to have an ethernet cable - connect your laptop directly to ethernet.
› Refresh your browser and close other tabs.
› If none of these options work, try lowering the resolution on the video player. This can be done during the stream by clicking the Settings “wheel” icon toward the lower right of your video player and lowering your resolution to one of the available settings. Note: this will refresh your concert feed.
› No video in your video player? Try opening an "incognito" (Chrome) or private (Firefox, Safari) browsing window to access Fridays Live.
Here are some additional troubleshooting options while watching Fridays Live:
› If you get an error code, please refresh the page and the stream usually restarts.
› If you see "Waiting for live event to start..." on the screen and you know the show is past its listed start time, first, refresh the page, then clear your browser cookies and cache for the SFJAZZ.org domain.
› Try a different browser (again, we recommend the use of Chrome or Firefox) and see if you get different results.
› Disable any added plugins or extensions (for ad blockers, etc.). -

At this time, we do not have a version of the app available for LG smart TVs running the webOS system. It's possible that support might be added over the long term, but there is no timeline right now. Also, while the TV has a built-in web browser, it will not play our broadcasts. We recommend and support using the newest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browsers for best compatibility. Here are some articles from LG that describe possible viewing workarounds using a mobile device or computer:
If you have an iPhone / iPad device, you could install the app for iOS and then could try using Airplay to stream to your LG TV. Here's some info from LG about that: How to Use Airplay & What LG TV's support Airplay 2
If you have an Android phone, you might be able to install the app and share your screen to the TV. If using a computer, you could use a supported web browser to view and might be able to screen share to your TV. Please see this page from LG which walks you through options that might be available: Screen Share / Screen Mirroring - Device to TV

Another option might be to hook up an HDMI cable from one of your mobile/computer devices and plug that into the back of your TV. This option is highly dependent on the specific devices you're using and it may require a special adapter. Most Apple devices have some type of HDMI adapter available for purchase. For Android, it's often only higher-end devices that support HDMI adapters. Most new Windows PCs come with HDMI ports installed. -
At this time, we do not have a version of the app available for Samsung smart TVs running Tizen OS. It's possible that support might be added in the future. While the TV has a built-in web browser, it will not play our broadcasts. We recommend and support using the newest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browsers for best compatibility.
