Visionary bassist and bandleader Marcus Shelby reimagines the innovative sounds of Miles Davis's Birth of the Cool with excerpts from the original suite and inspired new compositions, including a commissioned arrangement by trumpeter and SFJAZZ All-Stars Alumna, Skylar Tang. Join us alongside Shelby’s star-studded New Orchestra and special guest Skylar Tang as we celebrate the Miles Davis centennial!
