Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Oakland native Satya is a star on the ascent, with a truly distinctive sound that crosses genres of soul, R&B, folk, and rock. Making her long-awaited return following her triumphant 2023 appearance as part of Noise Pop, she brings selections from her repertoire including music from her unreleased upcoming projects.
A graduate of the Oakland School for the Arts who relocated to New Orleans and has since returned to the Bay, Satya counts India.Arie, Goapele, Mazzy Star, Corinne Bailey-Rae, and Prince among her myriad influences, and released her debut EP Flourish Against Fracture in 2020.
Between the pandemic and Hurricane Ida, the 24-year-old singer, whose means "truth", was caught between the Bay Area and the Big Easy, which focused her time and energy into compositions that were recorded for her EP Deep Blue.
Most recently, Satya has been releasing filmed songs from a live recording made at Oakland’s 25th Street Studio and has performed at Stern Grove Festival.
Satya’s artistic journey is shaped by her upbringing in a creative family and the vibrant cultural influences of the Bay Area and New Orleans. She continues to evolve as an artist, boldly exploring new sounds and emotional landscapes, making her a compelling voice in contemporary music.
