An artist whose music has been described as “Mingus and Miles Davis meet Bartok and Bernard Herrmann” (The New York Times), bassist and composer Ben Wolfe performs music from his most recent album, Any Time After Now, with an all-star quartet of master instrumentalists.

A former member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and a veteran of work with Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Branford Marsalis, Michael Bublé, and Benny Green, Wolfe is a highly regarded bandleader and composer whose work bridges a mastery of modern jazz. The bassist is a two-time recipient of Chamber Music America’s New Works: Creation and Presentation Program Grant through the Doris Duke Foundation and has released a dozen albums including Any Time After Now, his 2026 release for his own Resident Arts Records.

Featuring an all-star lineup including vibraphonist Joel Ross, pianist Sullivan Fortner, saxophonist Chris Lewis, and drummer Aaron Kimmel, the album is a masterfully constructed program of original music that further demonstrates Wolfe’s compositional acuity and sumptuous sense of swing. In his liner notes, the eminent drumming great Jeff “Tain” Watts relates, “These great artists have come together and made a beautiful thing.”
