“A singer and songwriter possessing a smoky, jazz-infused, genre-fluid voice” (Broadway World), Emmaline returns for her Miner Auditorium debut with an evening dedicated to the music associated with Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra.
The Cincinnati native possesses a powerful, mellifluous voice and masterful skill on violin matched to a decidedly retro aesthetic and a beguiling gift for composition. She has received coverage in Rolling Stone and American Songwriter, opened for the legendary Chaka Khan, collaborated with funk icon Bootsy Collins, and headlined clubs all over the U.S.
The daughter of jazz pianist Russ Campbell and singer Julie Campbell, Emmaline was exposed to the work of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Anita O’Day from childhood, and though her love of old movies and vintage fashion has informed her personal style, she is a true artist for the 21st century, accumulating over a half-million followers on social media for her homemade videos showcasing her songs.
Now based in Chicago, Emmaline has released a series of assured EPs and singles that blend the jazz tradition with soul, pop, and R&B. For this night, she embraces the timeless Sinatra songbook with the style and panache that has made her a sensation.
