A jazz vocalist with “an awe-inspiring voice” (The Mercury News), Marina Crouse is known for her latest album Canto de mi Corazón and for her sold-out Hotplate tributes to Eydie Gormé and Ernestine Anderson. A powerful and versatile Bay Area artist, Crouse blends jazz, blues, soul, Latin music, and classic bolero traditions into performances marked by emotional honesty and deep cultural connection. Raised in California and deeply influenced by her Chicana heritage, she first gained recognition for her expressive interpretations and remarkable vocal control, shaped in part by early classical training. Her 2018 debut album, Never Too Soon, introduced audiences to a singer equally at home with blues, R&B, and jazz-inflected storytelling.
With Canto de mi Corazón, Crouse turned toward the Spanish-language music that filled her childhood home, paying heartfelt tribute to Eydie Gormé and Los Panchos through lush, intimate renditions of beloved boleros. The album earned praise for its warmth, authenticity, and elegant vocal phrasing, solidifying her place as one of the Bay Area’s most compelling interpreters of Latin jazz and traditional song.
Beyond the recording studio, Crouse has collaborated with leading regional musicians and become celebrated for honoring jazz and blues legends while bringing her own soulful perspective to every performance.
